2024/25 LGIS Membership Renewal Back
Print

A new year means it's time for members across Western Australia to start thinking about their protection requirements for 2024/25 and renewing their LGIS membership.

LGIS Account managers will be visiting members to discuss changes within their local government, the issues they face and how we can help.

Members should take note of the following to prepare for 2024/25 renewal declarations:

  • Release date: Renewal declarations are scheduled to be released in the first week of February.
  • Asset registers: Have you acquired, or will you acquire, new assets, plant, machinery, fleet or equipment in the past or next 12 months? Now is the time to update your asset and motor registers. Check the 2024/25 Asset Guide for more information.
  • Valuations: Have your assets been valued recently? Inflation has had a substantial impact on repair and replacement value for many assets, make sure that your values are accurate and that you have not undervalued important assets and equipment.
  • Your access: Make sure your access is current. If you've previously completed declarations for your local government make sure that you can still log into the LGIS website (www.lgiswa.com.au) to confirm currency. If you will be completing declarations for the first time or have trouble logging on contact your account manager.
  • Renewal site: Make sure that you whitelist the renewal website address when you recieve your activation email so that you can access it.

Improvements in 2024

The New Year brings with it some improvements to the renewal website, particularly around two areas that members provided a lot of feedback on:

  • Load capacity: We've done extensive testing of site load and capacity.
  • Automatic data entry: You will be able to review your answers from last year and, if there are no changes from last year, automatically enter it for this year's declaration. Although convenient it's important that all this information is verified before it's entered.

Account managers will be in contact over the next weeks, please have a chat for more information or if you have any questions.
